I’ve needed to go to Xochimilco, the “Venice of Mexico Metropolis,” ever since I noticed my good friend Kati Nawrocki’s sensible reportage of it. And I’ve to say, it didn’t disappoint!
Shade galore, lovely greenery and pleasant folks, the Mexico Metropolis staples, plus our personal private mariachi band enjoying for us as we drifted alongside on our trajinera: it doesn’t get higher. To not point out the attention-grabbing historical past of the precolonial canal and chinampa system, which makes Xochimilco a World Heritage Web site. In my view, all of Mexico Metropolis needs to be a world heritage website. What a spot – can’t wait to return.
