Drawing of an unique brick shed on the Hutton Brickyards, ink and pastel. I drew this on website in Kingston, NY whereas in residence on the Brydcliffe Artists Colony in Woodstock, NY. This reportage drawings and others of deserted brickyards alongside the Hudson River have been the inspiration behind the work and glass castings that have been featured in my solo present, Materials Reminiscence, hosted by Emerge Gallery in 2023.
Each time I see this I consider the sunny July day that I drew it, and the way fantastic it’s that the present Hutton Brickyards lodge stored a few of this unique structure. It’s a historical past that deserves to be preserved and elevated – which is why my exhibit included some glass castings of the bricks that construct NYC (see beneath.) Due to Kelli Ann Krouse for her fabrication expertise!
All of this work and extra is on the market to view and buy through the Emerge Gallery Artsy website, HERE.
The Woodstock-Byrdcliffe Guild is internet hosting its annual 5×7 present to profit the artist residency program. It’s an exquisite custom – extra data HERE. I donated a 5×7 portray – all donations are nameless which is a part of the enjoyable of the exhibition! Preview occasion on December 1 on the Kleinert/James Heart Gallery, Woodstock, NY.
