Public sale home Christie’s and trend model Gucci are collaborating on a brand new digital public sale that includes eight generative artists who’ve created work for the model.
Bidding on the works in “Parallel Universes: From Future Frequencies to Gucci Cosmos” runs till November 28 on Gucci Artwork House, the model’s on-line gallery, which was launched in 2022. The taking part artists are Alexis Andre, Alexis Christodoulou, Amy Goodchild, Harvey Rayner, Jacqui Kenny, JoAnn, Melissa Wiederrecht, and Thomas Lin Pedersen.
The public sale comes as a follow-up to Future Frequencies: Explorations in Generative Artwork and Vogue, which came about over the summer time alongside Christie’s Artwork+Tech Summit. It’s a fascinating time for the model because it makes strides to look to the longer term in addition to discover its heritage and additional its imprint within the artwork world.
Gucci’s inventive director Sabato De Sarno debuted his new smooth imaginative and prescient in September and the Es Devlin-designed touring model retrospective “Gucci Cosmos” is now in London.
At publishing time, works are priced at a spread from 0.5 ETH (about $1,030) for a piece by Goodchild that explores “the ability of unisex trend as championed by Gucci” to 4.0 ETH (about $8,250) for a piece by JoAnn that depicts a surrealist multi-decker bus and is described as “carrying easy pleasures of life within the night journey.”
Additionally tagged at 4.0 ETH is Alexis Christodoulou’s The Mysteries of Nature and Artwork, a digital animation exhibiting the view out of a practice window with wild horses working alongside. “The digital art work, impressed by zoetropes, merges custom with modernity, encapsulating the essence of Gucci in a seamless fusion of artwork and trend,” in response to the art work description.
